re: Holiness without which no man shall see the Lord!

Quotes from scripture:

Psalm 14
1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Genesis 17
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
......................

Leviticus 20
7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
......................

Ecclesiastes 7
15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.
16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?
18 It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.
19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.
20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Malachi 3
1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
....

Malachi 4
1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Matthew 5
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
...
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Revelation 6
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The only holiness we have is through the blood of Jesus Christ our redeemer who was crucified for our sins. A man's own holiness is insufficient. It is by grace through faith that we are saved. The work of our faith through Christ is what pleases the God and prepares our way before Him that we may live in His presence. It is the God who defines what holiness is and it is He who chooses to reveal Himself to those upon which He has mercy.

I don't know much. What I've already said above is the way to be holy - that is to dwell in Christ, that and to do his will. I said "the God" because that is the correct translation of many phrases in the original Greek that are interpreted by just the word "God". God is not His name as such, at least not a proper holy name. It is His position as the one true Creator, an attribute of His power. That is my opinion and why I wrote it so, and as such anyone can take it or leave it. And yes, without the God calling you unto Himself, showing you the way, you cannot find Him if He doesn't want or allow you to. How can the wicked come close to that which is holy? But if you purify your heart, open it to the Creator and seek Him truly, He will show you the way and disclose Himself and His love through Jesus. Those He discloses Himself to are indeed said to be "called and chosen". This would be your prayer for salvation when you feel the need. This is what I believe, but everyone believes whatever they will. What do I know? I don't think anyone would be likely to call me an expert at anything.

I've been wrong before. I could be wrong this time as well.
